Workshop Outline

This two-day workshop will provide participants with the concepts of internal audit principles and practices, and its effective application to the ISO 9001 quality management system. Emphasis will be placed on audit planning, execution, and follow-up to ensure participants gain a solid understanding of how to perform effective audits. Learning is reinforced through interactive group exercises, real life examples and engaging discussions. Communication and interpersonal skills are also emphasized and integrated into the workshop. This workshop will benefit anyone working in an ISO 9000 environment and will be especially useful for individuals who may be required to develop, maintain or audit an ISO 9001 quality management system.

 

Workshop Goals:

 

  • High level review of the ISO 9001 standard
  • Review of the ISO 19011 guideline for auditing management systems
  • Understand audit definitions and the application of audit principles, procedures and techniques
  • Understand the objectives and responsibilities related to the audit process
  • Understand the process approach to auditing management systems
  • Discuss document review skills
  • Review audit processes and activities including:
    • Initiating audits
    • Preparing for audits
      • Audit notification
      • Audit planning
      • Documentation review
      • Development of checklists
    • Conducting audits
      • Communication skills during audit
      • Opening and closing meetings
    • Writing audit findings
    • Audit Reporting and distribution
    • Audit Follow-up
  • Brief overview of auditing integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001)

Pre-requisite: ISO 9001:2015 Overview Workshop

Fee:                        $850 (materials will be provided)

Equipment: Students will need a computer with a working camera to participate online.
